18/10: Nobody’s Free Until Everybody’s Free Gathering:
In focus: Congo, Palestina en Sudan
Do you feel overwhelmed by all the injustices in the world and unsure where to start? Don't worry, you're not alone! Every day, we're flooded with news that reminds us of how tough life can be. We regularly see heart-wrenching images of human rights violations, genocide, and colonial violence, especially from countries like Congo, Palestine, and Sudan. These conflicts are complex and deeply rooted in a history of colonial oppression.
But here's the truth: Change is possible. It begins with the community we build together. We must ensure that the political and economic interests of those in power do not hinder the freedom and well-being of local populations. The older generation knew the truth: "If you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together." This is more than just a wise saying; it's a call for unity.
Let's use this gathering to amplify our voices, support each other, and appreciate the community. Solidarity means coming together and supporting one another in challenging times. It is vital for social change because together we stand stronger than alone. Through solidarity, we can make a difference and build a more just world.
