From September 13 to December 13, 2024, you can discover Amilcar Cabral's fascinating vision on national liberation and cultural identity at the HipHopHuis in Rotterdam.
Amílcar Lopes Cabral was an agronomic engineer, writer, and politician. He led the liberation movements in Guinea-Bissau and the Cape Verde Islands, the PAIGC. He brought not only a revolutionary spirit and struggle but also a deep understanding of the power of culture. What do you know about this struggle? Curator Tania Christina Monteiro, in collaboration with The Black Archives, has created a pop-up exhibition where we delve into the extraordinary story of Cabral. Tania's family lives in the house where Cabral spent part of his youth. Step into Cabral's symbolic home and discover this unique story through artistic photos, videos, art, and unique archival materials.
