A tour of The Black Archives takes you on a journey through a silenced history of Black emancipation and resistance, using the unique collections in the archive. These collections include stories about the migration history of Surinamese people and other migrant groups, the colonial and slavery past, and hidden stories about its ongoing impact in the form of racism and discrimination. From these stories, we can draw valuable lessons for current issues such as diversity and inclusion in the workplace, education, and beyond. Tours and masterclasses can also be tailored to specific topics upon request, such as neocolonialism in the climate crisis and other aspects you may want to explore.
Tour The tour begins with an introduction and a guided exploration of our archive. Afterward, participants can view our pop-up exhibition. There is also room for dialogue and a Q&A session.
