On International Human Rights Day, we invite you to join our Write for Rights session. Together, we’ll put our pens to work for people around the world who are facing injustice.
Imagine this: you’re imprisoned for criticizing your government. Thousands of people from across the globe send letters to the president, calling for your release. Those same people also send you postcards with kind messages. That’s Write for Rights.

12:00 – Kick-off: Introduction to Write for Rights

Feel free to drop by whenever it suits you! Our museum hosts will gladly guide you in writing cards and letters. We’ll focus especially on personal messages of support — a few words of hope can make a world of difference for someone in need.

- Ellinor (Norway) – Fighting for the rights of her Sámi community
- Guerreras por la Amazonía (Ecuador) – 15 young women standing up against toxic gas flares
- Unecebo Mboteni (South Africa) – 3-year-old boy who died; his family seeks justice
- Saleh Diab (Occupied Palestinian Territories) – At risk of losing his home to settlers
- Sai Zaw Thaike (Myanmar) – Photojournalist sentenced to 20 years for his reporting
- Mother Nature Cambodia – Environmental activists, five of whom are imprisoned
- Juan López (Honduras) – Environmental activist murdered on September 14, 2024
- Sonia Dahmani (Tunisia) – Lawyer imprisoned for speaking out against injustice
