Langston Hughes's Beautiful Poem Okayyy...so today historical sociologist Melissa Weiner from the US paid a visit to the library / archive of Vereniging Ons Suriname. Whilst casually going through some of the boxes from the collection of Otto Huiswoud we found a few signed books from the poet Langston Hughes and a few other historical books and newspapers. Apparantly Otto Huiswoud and Langston Hughes knew eachother quite well. Beautiful unexplored history and hidden treasures... He once wrotes this beautiful poem: "Hold fast to dreams For if dreams die Life is a broken-winged bird That cannot fly. Hold fast to dreams For when dreams go Life is a barren field Frozen with snow."
